Notification of an additional Named Scholarship for this Application Period:
It is an honor and a pleasure to announce that under the leadership of Board Chair, Vince Piscopo, The Scholarship Foundation has authorized that an additional $3,000 scholarship will be offered during this scholarship application period.  As a Memorial to the long term volunteer service of our dedicated Little Italy Lodge brother, Anthony “Tony” Verdecchia, we will add a named scholarship this year.  These additional dollars bring our total Scholarship Foundation awards in 2022 to a record $36K ifor SEVEN awardees.  What a significant milestone in our 22year history. We thank all of our generous and proud donors!

Reminder:  Scholarship Applications Due May 1st:
All scholarship applications must be received no later than May 1, 2022 by our Designated Recipient and Foundation Board Member, Sue Corasaniti. The Scholarship Evaluation Committee, chaired by Chris Pisano, will review all valid deidentified applications in 3 areas: The Essay, Academic Quality Point Average, and Family Financial Needs . The Evaluation Committee members have all completed a required Conflict of Interest disclosure.  They will meet and review all applications in May of 2022 and advise the Board of the selectees in June. We expect to notify all awardees by June 30th and mail the awards checks to the respective academic institutions in August.  Please ALL Sponsors, encourage your applicant to get the completed application including transcripts in by 5/1!

One last reminder… our Little Italy Lodge Scholarship Foundation will be hosting our Spring Fun Fundraiser in St Leo’s School Hall on Sunday April 24th from 12:30-4:30pm.  We are very close to a sell out… please support YOUR Foundation by making a donation or buying a ticket for $55.  In addition to celebrating the food and vino from four regions of Italy, we will unfurl the St Leo’s 140th Anniversary Donor Banner and hand a $500 check over to Father Bernie to cap off the highly successful campaign.
