Financial Aid for Trade School, Apprenticeships
and Community College Technical Degree Programs 

Sponsored by the Little Italy Lodge OSDIA #2286 Foundation, Inc., Trade Aid provides financial support for undergraduate education. Scholarships are available to Little Italy Lodge members and their spouses, children, grandchildren, stepchildren, step-grandchildren, or legal wards. To be eligible, the sponsoring Lodge member must have been a regular member in good standing (not a social member) as of January 1, 2025. 

Who can apply? 

  • High school senior, recent graduate, or GED recipient 
  • Applicants may reapply annually; however, an individual may not be awarded more than four awards. 

Application Requirements 

Written Statement 

Provide a written statement describing educational, training, and career goals, including how the program you plan to attend will aid in the achievement of those goals. 

Recommendation Letter 

  • Deadline June 10, 2026; late letters will not be accepted. 
  • A recommendation letter must be provided directly to the LIL Foundation from at least one of the applicant’s previous high school or GED teachers and one non-family community member. 
  • Mail letters to our Designated Recipient: Gary Molino, 3 Covert Court, Timonium, MD 21093-2016 … OR … email letter to littleitalyfoundation@gmail.com. 

 Optional Free Application information for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) 

Provide either the FAFSA Submission Summary (SAI) or FAFSA Student Aid Report (EFC) via the online form (SAI or EFC needed). If the optional FAFSA is not provided, the financial need category will receive no credit in evaluation. 

Complete application online 

  • Use this online form to submit your written statement and the optional FAFSA. 
  • All award scholarships are contingent on the verified accuracy of the information provided by the applicant and sponsor. 

Award Details 

  • Scholarship payments are mailed directly to the college or university upon receipt of an itemized bill. 
  • Recipients will be notified by email and introduced at a Little Italy Lodge General Meeting. Non-recipients also will be notified by email. 

Key Deadlines 

  • May 31, 2026 – Application and written statement submission 
  • June 10, 2026 – Recommendation letters. Please allow time for schools to respond. 
  • September 1, 2026 – Award payment to college/university
